John Carty

John Carty (ACT) is a writer and academic and the inaugural Research Fellow at the Centre for Art and Environment, Nevada Museum of Art.

He has worked on projects with artists around Central Australia, the Pilbara and the Kimberley. He was co-curator of Yiwarra Kuju: The Canning Stock Route (National Museum of Australia) and Purnu, Tjanpi, Canvas: Art of the Ngaanyatjarra at Lawrence Wilson Gallery (a Perth Festival 2012 event).

In 2009-10 he worked on a collaborative research project with MMA; Pretty One: the Art of Billy Atkins.
